SALAMANDERS : TOURNAMENT PREPARATIONS!

Here I am again preparing my self for one more tournament! My gaming buddies and I are going to participate to the ''Genocide Chronicles'', a Team Tournament that I will have the honor to represent the mighty Adeptus Astartes.

It became a habbit of mine to add some more models to the army I am going to play, so I saw fit to add more melta guns to my Salamander Drop Pod Assault Roster. I run three cheap drop pods, each one carrying a combat squad armed with melta guns.To make things worse for my opponents I armed the Sergeants with a combi melta gun! Did I mention that all this melta death is twin-linked? Now, having 3 pods in your deployment area demolishing your precious tanks not only is an extra victory point (due to first blood) but is also a psychological blow that my opponent will have a hard time overcoming! So this will be one of the dirty little strategies I am going to employ. I hope you like the models, I certainly do!

SALAMANDERS : COMMAND SQUAD

The last couple of weeks I was really busy! The first of those weeks I was painting a competitive Tau Empire roster for the Indipendend Club Tournament. The second week I was too busy with my job. So in this free weekend I was able to finish the Salamander Command Squad I was painting!

SALAMANDERS : COMMAND SQUAD (3/5)

The Sternguard Veteran kit is one of my absolut favourites! I was planning to buy one and add a power weapon to turn them into a Honor Guard. Alas, this was not meant to be! Playtasting proved that Thunder Hammer Terminators tend to fare way better. So, take a look to the command squad! No wait a minute, what did you mean I can have 5 Melta guns in a Drop Pod just for 185p? So the plans changed and the new kit will equip my new Command Squad! Here are the first 3!

Salamanders : 2nd Sternguard Squad 90% Complete!!!

My Salamanders project is back inline again! This time I am trying to finish the secound Sternguard veteran squad. I am really near this target as I need one more model!
Let's see what we have at hand! With these three models I am raising my total Sternguad veterans to 19, but more importantly I am finishing the Sternguard Veterans Boxed Set in the Salamanders Insignia. It's something really small but for me it's something really great!

Salamanders:Sternguard Veteran Squad (30% complete)

With the third Tactical Squad done, I only need a second SternGuard Veteran Squad of Salamanders to consider my army complete, so I painted 3 more Sternguard veterans - this time with bolters - to boost my current sternguard pool of models for extra versatility. After all, each of the squads need a Heavy Flamer, three combi melta guns , three combi flamers and three bolters.
Also on the paintstation, the secound termagant brood is awaiting for some attention and my RavenWing is recieving Grand Master Samael himself to join the Hunt against the fallen.

Salamanders : The Third Tactical Squad!

Finishing a squad leaves a really satisfying feeling. That's why I am really glad that today I finished the 3rd Tactical Squad for my Salamanders. I payed some extra attention to the basing work, especially to these last models. Now, I only need to finish some details for the Tau army I m going to take to the sunday's tournament and then I will turn my attention to my Dwarfs.Take care every one!

Salamanders : Third Tactical Squad (60% Complete)

The tactical squad is already halfway finished. Two more bolters and a flamer are joining my Drop Pod Army List. Now I only need 3 more bolters and a Combi Flamer armed Sergeant left to finish. Well, of course I have to finish the Devilfish I am painting and three Panther Tanks for my Flames of War army.Well lot of work.

Salamanders : 3rd Tactical Squad

Some more reingforcement for the Salamander's army. After a couple of games the Drop pod army proved quite good. The only trouble is the close range support land speeders are not performing so well as in the last edition, so I decided to swap those models for one more Tactical Squad in a drop pod. Here's the first 3 models. As always the heavy weapon of choice is the ''free'' Multi Melta that under ForgeFather's special rules is twin linked.

Salamanders : Some new additions

As I was painting my Deathwing Terminators I gave some attention to the Salamanders army I currently play with! I was a Librarian short so I painted one. Also,I decided that a second Sternguard Veteran Squad wouldn't hurt me either so off I went for one more time! I used the AoBR Tactical Sergeant (you woudn't believe how many copies I have) for this small conversion. I hope you like it!

Salamanders:New Terminator Squad

I am so disapointed at the 6th edition! With only 3 games it's really too soon to have a clear view of the new rules but so far I can't find to like the new game engine. I will give more chances to the game but I'm not that optimistic. In any case, my Salamanders are taking some more Tactical Terminators. I chose the Heavy flamer as a heavy weapon not only to honour my fluff of course, but because I love the model as well! I hope you like them!

Salamanders : Storm Talon

I wanted a model to celebrate the arrival of the new edition, so what better than the later Space Marine flyer the Storm Talon? At first, I was curious if the new model can be taken from my Angels Sanguine Chapter. I imagined that two talons escorting my Storm Raven Gunships could be an awesome sight on the battlefield. Unfortunatly I can't.
My second choice was, of course, the Salamander Chapter. I was truly reluctant for this as the Tallon has no melta or flamer weaponry but I did it anyway.
This model is smaller than the pictures imply. Its size has nothing to do with the older Vendettas and Raven models that share the same oval base with the Storm Talon but its strangely cuter than the older flyers. In any case, I was able to paint this model in less than three days and that's saying something. This model took all my attention from the Dark Angels vow and I dedicated all my painting time to it.

Salamander's Sternguarf Veteran Squad!

With the completion of the Salamander Sternguard squad I cut one more loose end clear! Now the only remaining issues are the 5 last of the 40 handguners from the Empire Project, the 3rd Grey Knight dreadnought, an Imperial Guard Sentinel and the fifth Infantry Squad and that's that! Sounds like a lot of work but I guess I' ll manage!

Combi flamer armed Sternguards

That was a busy week alright! Thankfully, I was able to spend some time for my Salamanders and finish two more Sternguad veterans. The final plan is to arm the squad with two heavy flamers, combi flamers and 5 combi meltaguns! Also, I will paint a Drop pod to deliver the Squad next to a tempting target and flame/melta the herecy out of them.

Salamander Sternguard Veterans

Salamander Sternguards Veterans armed with combi meltas this time! Those models were previously Raven Guard Sternguards but I decided to repaint them and transfer them in the Salamander Chapter. I plan to paint two Vanguard Veterans to replace those models, I consider it a fair trade. Now I only need a Drop Pod and three Combi-flamer armed Sternguards to finish the squad. I will have news for this project soon, till then, take care everyone!

Salamanders Terminator Assault Squad.

This is the latest addition of the Salamander Terminator Assault Squad I planned for this army. So now I can concentrate my efforts to paint a 5 man Purifier Squad and the Third Attack Bike of the Angels Sanguine roster!

Lightning Claws armed Terminator for the Salamanders

My Terminator Assault Squad recieved a new addition, a lightning claw armed Astartes. Now, all I need is one more member with Thunder hammer and Storm Shield to complete the squad. I decided that a 5 man hammers-only squad will be enough for the list I am painting but with the addition of two more Lightning claws I will be more flexible when I am trying to write down some different army lists. Today I am painting some Purifiers Grey Knights and I am really happy with the way I paint white. Please wait till those two fellows are complete. Take care every one!

If the model reminds you of something then must be it!

Τhe Sniper Scout Squad is finished!!!

Finally! It took me forever to finish this Scout Squad but I think I know the reasons for this delay. I didn't like the colour scheme and the models. This small project started wrong. No matter how many stores I visited I couldn't find the two boxes of scouts I needed. Finally I was able to get one and thankfully enough I found 5 more in my failed project box. Then misfortune struck again. I lost the lences of the scout night vision goggles, also the gun and the head of Sgt Telion.I improvised for one more time. So, after all those adventures the Scout Squad is finished. Now where are those Grey Knights?

Death Company Astartes and a Scout!

A Death company astartes this time. A forsaken model in the hell maze of my Failled Projects Box found a new home inside the Angels Sanguine carry case. The original model was armed with a Lightning claw and a bolt pistol. I used the claw ages ago for a Shrike Veteran back in the 4th edition so I swapped it with a humble chainsword. I also chopped away the bolt pistol for an Inferno pistol. I hope you like it.
Something for my Salamanders too. A scout armed with a missile launcher so Sgt Tellion can whisper to someone with his BS6.

Who's better to lead my new sniper squad than Sgt Telion himself? So I painted the sergeant to match his scout charges guiding them in the hellish desserts of Armaggeddon. But Telion is an Ultramarine. Hmm from now on mine will be named Sgt Draco Kyrion.
For one more time stupidity struck me. The model is out of metal and the head and bolter of Kyrion was in a seperate sprue. Well I managed to lose the sprue so I had to swap both with what you see. Not so bad of a result eh?
Also, my SternGuard Squad has a new Veteran .Now the said squad is 5 Astartes strong.
I hope you like them both

Salamanders Snipers

The first five Snipers are ready. I bought the models in Athens and glued them. Unfortunatly I forgot to glue the lences from the Night Vission Goggles the models had and now that I am in Crete I had to impovise. So, without NVGs I painted that section like normal balistic goggles. In transit I lost a head too. So again I improvised (you can't call it a conversion really) and glued in place a naked space marine head. Now where are the other metalic models?
